disease.
In humans,
acesulfame K can cause low blood sugar
attacks (reactive hypoglycemia).
Some researchers are worried
that not enough testing has been done on it.
Alginic
acid
Alginic
acid is used as gelling agent to thicken drinks and foods.
Where
can it be found?
Salad dressings,
soups, jellies, cheese spreads
and dips,
ice cream and other frozen
desserts.
Dangers:
Birth
defects, complications in pregnancy

drink mixes, soft drinks,
and some brands of chewable
vitamin supplements.
Dangers:
Headaches,
nausea, depression, rashes, seizures,
dizziness, blurred vision, insomnia,
ringing in the ears,
and hallucinations.

used in household foods
to prevent the rapid spoilage and oxidation of foods.
Where
can it be found?
Cereals, desserts, candy, chewing
gums, potato chips,
vegetable oils,
shortening, and sausages

|
|
Brominated
Vegetable Oil (BVO)
Is used as
an emulsifier

The
Bad News:
There are
about 14,000
man-made chemicals added
to the American food and products supply today.
Some additives cause serious side effects
to humans and pets.
The
Good News:
We have a few choices: Here is what I do.
Option 1: I Check the Labels
I read the labels on all packaged foods or products
and ask about the full list of ingredients in case they are not
posted,
then I quickly verify if any of the additives cause negative side effects
by going online before I make a purchase.
Why go through all this trouble?
It is a one time search and my health
is well worth it. If more readers take the time to
care about what they eat and choose to be healthy,
manufacturers will think twice before dropping
unhealthy ingredients into consumers' foods and products.
And this is how, we all help each other and stay healthy.
Option 2: I eat few packaged foods such as chocolate
I prefer food that is fresh and natural that can be eaten raw,
chances are that my body, hair and skin will like it too.
I look for fresh and natural products that do not contain antibiotics
or pesticides or additives that are most likely dangerous
for my body or pets consumption.
Below you
will find a list of
additives currently approved by the FDA and
found in "fresh" foods, like eggs, milk, meats,
fish, shrimps, pastries, salad bars...
Some are good; like Vitamin C, Pepper, Cumin
but others like pre-packaged baby formulas
raise questions.
